The Role

Lovevery is looking for an APAC Strategic Operations Associate to help define, execute and communicate our strategic priorities in the region. This position is based in Tokyo and reports into Lovevery’s Senior Director, APAC. This is a broad, cross-functional, and unique role that will require strategic thinking, financial acumen, and operational know-how. The APAC Strategic Operations Associate will collaborate internally with everyone from product, content, finance, product marketing, technology, operations and PR as well as across respective external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for a multi-talented individual looking to grow an international startup in APAC, who is passionate about our space.

Responsibilities

  • International expansions & project management - you need to be able to understand projects across different functions (operations, CX, product, finance, technology), learn from best practices, decide on what actions to take, and then manage agencies or internal partners to ensure the work gets done.
  • Rolling-up-your-sleeves and being a tactical executor - this is primarily an execution role. You must be excited by getting deep in the weeds and doing what needs to be done in order to complete a task or project
  • Financial analysis & data analytics - strong analytical skills is a must, with a comfort dealing with numbers and data. You will need to uncover areas of opportunity across various forms of data and then give clear direction and follow through to ensure it gets done.
  • Netsuite and / or fulfilment experience - prior experience with Netsuite or inventory fulfilment is a plus. Assisting in creating and updating purchase orders, ensuring costs, units, ETA/ETDs, and SKU creations are accurate
  • Business insights & data visualization - prior experience with gathering and visualizing data through tools such as Looker is a plus
  • Organized communication & structured thinking - this is a connected role with interactions across all business units. You are detail oriented and organized in your messages and articulate in face-to-face interactions, you are able to explain your reasoning and ask for clarification to ensure you fully understand requests and requirements

Qualifications and attributes

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in an analytical major such as accounting, finance, mathematics, business or a similar analytical field
  • Prior experience with Netsuite or inventory fulfilment is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese (Korean is a plus)
  • Naturally proactive and curious, someone who proactively looks for work
  • Strong Gsheets, Microsoft excel and powerpoint skills
  • Able to structure large problems and break them down into solvable and explainable components
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, is flexible and able to balance a number of priorities
  • Allowed to work within Japan and are already based in the Tokyo area
